West View is not your average bed and breakfast. Located on Gallan Head in Uig on the Isle of Lewis we are ideally situated for people wanting to enjoy the dramatic scenery of the islands.

West View is a great place to stay if you want to feel home from home. We are in a unique and favourable position to allow guests to come and go as they please with a open door policy. This allows you to treat the place as home during your stay.

Families are more than welcome. We have two young children who thoroughly enjoy having guests coming to stay. They often help with the morning/evening entertainment!?!

We welcome all. We currently specialize in offering powerkite & kitesurfing holidays. We can offer instruction and equipment and support to our guests. The local area has wide open spaces, smooth sandy beaches, clean shallow water and most importantly wind. This is the ideal location to practice the sport away from crowds of people.

An ideal base for many outdoor pursuits including bird watching, cycling, fishing, surfing and walking and at the right time of the year to watch spectacular Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) displays. We are close to the launch point of Seatrek who can take you on a high speed adventure around the coast and islands off the west of Lewis.

Close to some of the finest beaches in the British Isles; Uig Bay is an expanse of white sand and shallow water at high tide. Cliff beach is renowned for its consistent surf, Reef beach is a stunning mile long beach with white sand and turquoise waters.

Local wild life include Golden Eagles, Gannets, Seals, Dolphins, Basking Sharks and Red Deer (not forgetting the sheep).

For further details of accommodation and prices please click on this link.

Our accommodation is basic but comfortable with a separate shower/bathroom for guests to use. Our living area is open plan and guests are welcome to come and relax with us.

We have no standard menu as we like to keep the atmosphere as relaxed and as informal as possible so depending on how you feel in the morning a full cooked Scottish breakfast to keep you going for the day can be prepared or something a whole deal lighter.  Pack lunches can also be prepared if required.

"You know it's been a proper holiday when you're not sure what day it is anymore! Thank you."
